OMG!

This morning was just insane... The gigantic waves crashing on the Icebergs was just an amazing show to watch and photograph.

I haven't seen anything like this for a little while... I reckon the last time that happened was June last year and the insane storm. Do you remember? It even ripped off the water tank from the Icebergs and landed on the sand, here is a photo of it.

Morning guys,

There is never a dull moment in Bondi...

When you think that you will have nothing to photograph as the weather is not great, you surprisingly discover that tonight is Water Polo by the Sea and that the team is training this morning. Brilliant timing guys!

The ocean is still really rough, so is the pool. Hopefully the conditions will get better tonight...

Morning guys,

Hope you all had a good night sleep - I personally didn't, I'm not sure if it's the wind or the couple of beers that I had last night but I was fully awake by 3:30am.

Anyway, I went down to the jungle gym with my mate Carlos, we did a few reps of push/pull/abs and then we hanged out around South Bondi with coffee in one hand and camera in the other.

It was really windy down there but once the sun was up, it was just a magnificent show...

Other than this my good mates from The Nine are now opened for drinks & dinner (from Thursday to Saturday, 6PM). Besides the fact that I'm a big fan of the owners, Seb & Julie, a French-Aussie couple, and that the restaurant is literally at the bottom of my street, the Mediterranean inspired food and drinks are amazing. They have just hired a new award-winning head chef Patrick Dang - he's the real deal! Go there and tell them that you come from me, they will get you sorted!

Today the sun popped up really late, around 7:30ish. It's always the case, it's when you put your camera in the bag and are about to leave the beach that the sun decides to show its face. What a show it was!

Summer is over

Morning guys,

This morning was looking a lot like yesterday but the sunrise was slightly less magnificent.

So many grades of blue, from the sky, the ocean, the blue of the Bergs to even the blue bottles.

We went down with Paul for a gym sesh and joined the rest of the gang for coffee, swim with the jellies and photos.

Morning my friends,

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend guys. Mine was perfect, filled with parties, laugh, friends & love. Fortieth birthday of a good friend on Friday, parents in-law arrival on Saturday and birthday celebration of my daughter yesterday - perfecto!

This morning was magnifico, it started all grey and windy but once the sun was up, it was just stunning with a really interesting light.

Tonight is the second Community Talk organised by the Bondi Surf Club, it's free and the topic is Ocean & Marathon swimming. More info on the Facebook Event page.

Moody Friday

Morning peeps,

Today was pretty moody, pretty challenging to take a good photo to be honest. Not much stuff happening neither.

We went down for coffee, photos, drone and swim with the crew. Water was a bit chilly but still amazing - definitely the best way to wake up, especially after a few drinks last night.

Yesterday, I was invited to this never-seen before exhibition by Eugene Tan from Aquabumps. He basically brought the Almafi Coast to Bondi Icebergs by covering the whole pool with a gigantic print, 50 meters wide made of 24 different pieces. Here is a photo that I took of it and check my Instagram Story in the next few hours to see a video of it.

What a morning my friends! It could hardly get better than this really...

Sunrise was a cracker, there were heaps of happy people around (plenty of photo opps) and the surf was pumping.

We went to the jungle gym with Paul for some reps of push/pull/abs, then quick takeaway coffee at Chapter One, photo session around South Bondi and quick dip in the water.

For the ones that know me or have been following Morning Bondi for quite a while, you would know that my morning routine always start with the fitness bit and that I'm obsessed with watches. Anyway, if you didn't know, now you do. The fine team at Maxum kindly offered me the perfect watch - solid, waterproof, stylish and designed in Australia. Thanks so much, I love it! I'm not a hand model, far from it but I have tried to give it a go below.

Sun-sational morning down there...

You can tell that Autumn is around the corner, at 5:30am when I wake up, it's actually a bit chilly outside and the light starts to be really interesting. By the way, if you don't know yet, Autumn is actually the best season for sunrises.

Anyway, went to the jungle gym with Paul & Patrick (P&P) and then coffee, drone, photos with Bruno and finished by a swim in South Bondi. Water was amazing!

Today is a really special day for me, or actually should I say for my daughter. She is turning one. One year that she's in our life... It's crazy how time flies!

I spent my morning with my wife and daughter down the beach and only took a few shots of what was around us.

Wow today is going to be a hot one... I went down later than usual as I was with my little one. It was really warm out there and add a small heater in the Babybjörn and you basically lose 5 kilos just by standing in the sun.

Love those Friday mornings, happy people all around, patches of fluro in the surf with all the guys from OneWave and the Icebergs is super clear.

Today, the light was incredible and the sunrise pretty spectacular.

As every Thursday we went to the jungle gym for some push/pull/abs exercise, not much fun, then coffee, photos and swim South Bondi.

Morning folks,

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Mine was not bad at all, thanks for asking! ;) All started with winning a massive pitch at work, then the first steps of my daughter, followed by Gun's & Roses concert, drinks with friends, Icebergs swim with the family and ended with the first birthday party of one of my daughter's friends.

This morning was just incredible, sunrise tops, waves amazeball and water temp just perfect!

Morning guys,

Wow what a morning! Today was just sun-sational!!

You wouldn't believe it but I even went up to Bronte Beach to see the sunrise - quite unusual for me to venture that far from Bondi (3kms). The Bronte pool at 6am was already packed of people that wanted to cool off. 23 degrees at sunrise and it's meant to go up to 36 degrees today...

Other than this, I just wanted to share with you this super cool interview that I had with the guys from Campbell & Hall about my last 5 years running Morning Bondi. Thanks a lot to Cat and the rest of team for this great opportunity!

What a morning!! Once the clouds and the light rain gone, it was just magnificent out there. I could hardly see what I was taking photos of - it was so bright!

Moody Hump Day

Hey guys,

How is everyone today? What a wild weather we had yesterday, my Facebook was flooded (no pun intended) with videos and photos of rain.

Today was moody and windy but pretty amazing show. I went down there to meet my mate Bruno from Le Cut Studio, long chat and great laugh.

We all know that swimming in Bondi can be dangerous but after watching this video I finally realised how bad it could be. Great job to the guys in blue (Bondi Lifeguards) and the guys in yellow (Bondi Lifesavers) for keeping us safe!

Les archives. Another day, another rainy day… As I could see it was not raining, I ventured down much later than usual, around 6:45 am. I just arrived and a light drizzle started. What are the chances?! I joined my mates for a quick dip in the ocean and coffee at Chapter One (my unofficial gallery, they have five of my prints on the wall). Still worth going out, if you ask me… Have a great day my friends and stay warm as it’s a bit nippy at the moment. Ciao, Amo PS: I’m going camping this weekend with a bunch of mates but pretty sure I don’t have the right equipment to cope with the cold. I only have a summer sleeping bag… It’s going to be fun, they say. 🤦🏽‍♂️🥶

Rainy days. Do you know what rainy days mean? It means archive days. Here are photos from the past couple of months, most of them were my second favourite ones so you wouldn’t have seen them before. As you know, I love doing my Morning Bondi routine but it actually takes so much time. I’m talking about the photo bit especially. At the moment, I take photos from 6:30ish when the sun is up for roughly 30-40 minutes, then selection of the good photos for 20 mins, light edit the best ones for 10 mins, then write the morning blurb for 3-5 mins (I tend not to overthink this, as you can tell), then upload of each individual photos on the blog for 10 minutes, then newsletter for 5 minutes, then Instagram for 3 minutes, Facebook 3 minutes and Instagram Story 3 minutes. Basically, around 1.5 hours on average. So yes sometimes, I’m glad when it’s raining as I’m saving so much time. Have a beautiful day, despite the weather, and chat with you tomorrow, Xoxo Amo

Golden Sea. Slow start this morning, it was pretty average unless you could wait up to 8am (I couldn’t) to see the sun popping out behind the curtain of clouds. It was all about the golden reflection of the hidden sun on the water. Gold 24-carat for a few minutes. I don’t have much to tell you today except that if you live locally and love ‘Shark Tank’ TV show, you will love the local version of it. It’s called the Bondi Innovation Shark Tank organised by the @bondichamber and it’s next Wednesday at @hotelravesis You can find all the deets in the media release and book your tickets on the blog. I’m going with my awesome business partner Mary Proulx and supporting Sam Cust, one of the sharks (I think that’s what we call them). If you come down, let’s have a beer and break bread (what I love the most about our business name is that the puns are endless). I loaf you! (see) Amo

Nothing to worry about, it's just a tornado off North Bondi, ... 🌪️😲 I took this photo this morning around 9:30 am. I was shooting with @versefinejewellery in South Bondi when we saw this waterspout tornado coming out of nowhere. Scary much? Look closely and you can see the person around Ben Buckler's cliffs running for his life... That's all folks!

Pure Heaven. What another beautiful start to the day! While yesterday was all about big waves, today was all about the mad reflo on the sand - absolutely stunning. I was sitting just next to Morning Bondi HQ and was snapping like a maniac. Low-tide goodness. What a stunning morning! Today was all about the low-tide gold reflection. It was just the perfect conditions for photos. The problem, only a few people out including two metal hunters. I was with fellow Frenchy @dianeperreau all morning. I reckon she’s the most popular French person in Sydney. So many people are stopping her every morning to have a chat and take a selfie with her. Have a lovely day my friends, Ciao, Amo

Into the wild. What a cracker of a morning! For a change of scenery, I ventured down to Bronte this morning. I reckon I made the right choice, it was just an incredible show. I was with my mate @paolocattaneophoto for the entire morning and we were just looking at the waves rolling in. Bronte Pool was the best place in da house. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen the very rare video of me talking to the camera. With @bread_agency, my agency, I recently started working with the team from @in2thewild.aus, the best tiny houses business around. In order to have a better understanding of the experience, the client kindly invited me to go for a couple of days with my wife and daughter. Real legends, best onboarding! The whole experience was amazing - especially for someone like me that is pretty hyperactive. I just ‘re-wilded’ for two days. Even though the network was working where we were, I put my phone in airplane mode the whole weekend and made the most of the experience. The tiny house was kitted with all the things that you need, all the products in there are premium and sourced from ethical brands. Let’s be honest the firepit and outdoor bath were the highlights for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you are like me and struggle to switch off. FriYay. How’s everyone today? After two days in Melbs (Melbourne for the hipsters), I’m back in the hood. What a morning! Incredible light, the surf was ON and the Icebergs was packed - perfect for photo ops. This morning I caught up with my mate Ben, a fellow Frenchy that I haven’t seen for years.
