Pure Bliss

Morning my friends,

What an incredible morning down in Paradiseland!

I ventured down the beach before sunrise to witness the amazing paddle out organised by all the clubs around for the victims who lost their lives in Bondi Junction. It was the perfect morning for it and it was lovely to see all the different communities rallying together for this.

The sunrise was a cracker, the waves big and a lot of surfers making the most of them. The light was on point and I bumped into all my beach mates.

On another note, if you are ever interested in knowing more about what I do for work with 🍞, check this lovely article organised by Greg Graham aka 'Sparrow' and the B&T team. Thanks for your support guys! 🙌🏼

Enjoy your day team,

Morning gang,

How was your weekend? Any good?

This morning started pretty well. I was in North Bondi (NoBo for the hipsters).

Started by exercising with the training crew and had to stop when the sun popped up. Nice light but not much going on. I snapped whatever was in front of me. You know there is not much to photograph when I take photos of birds (talking about cockatoos here).

Have a fabulous day my friends and a great week!

Special Friday

Morning gang,

Hope you've all had a great week and you are ready for the weekend.

This morning was pretty special.

The entire of Bondi was farewelling ex-Olympian swimmer and Coach Neil Rogers, a true local legend. If you don't know him, you would have seen him at the Icebergs every Friday or on the sand in North Bondi. He was a very special man and I'm certainly going to miss not seeing him around the edge of the pool and hearing his voice. All my condolences to the entire Bondi community and his family and friends. Bon vent mon ami ! 💔

The sun was shining for him, the pool had a new fresh coat of paint for him too and all his swim squad group was having a moment.

I was with Em who was keen to experience what a Morning Bondi sesh was all about. Let's be honest, it's the best routine, wake up with the sun, coffee and swim. The photos are here to capture what's happening around us.

Have a fabulous Friday and cherish your time with your loved ones, life is precious.

Morning my friends,

Hope you're all well.

This morning, I went for a Bondi to Tamarama walk along the coastline with good mate Simon. Gorgeous sunrise, perfect temperatures outside and inside the water. Highly recommend it. Hope you had a great morning.

Finally, I just wanted to acknowledge what happened on Saturday in Bondi Junction. I was away for the weekend with no phone reception. It was only when we were driving back yesterday afternoon that we discovered all the atrocities. My condolences to all the family and friends who lost a loved one. Take care of yourself and stay strong!

Morning gang,

Hope you are all well and had a good weekend.

How good was the weather! So unexpected after last Friday's pouring rain.

Daylight saving is ON or OFF, I'm not sure what you are meant to say but basically, we changed the time yesterday which means that the sunrise is one hour earlier than last week which is perfect.

I woke up at 5:20 am and was down the beach by 6 am for coffee, photos and a dip in the ocean. Yes, it takes me a good 40 mins to look that good in the morning (jokes!).

The sunrise was fab and the surf was hectic. I always finish with a dip in the ocean - I call this "tea-bagging" I will leave you with this wonderful image.

Enjoy your week my friends,

Morning my friends,

How's everyone going? Good Easter? Christmas? New Year? Just joking, I know I have been fairly dormant lately but trust me, not much sleep going on - very busy on the Bread Agency front (new clients, new staff members, new digs...).

Also with the sunrise being so late these days, I don't have much chance to do my usual Morning Bondi updates. I can’t wait for the daylight savings on the 7th of April.

Today was well worth waking up early and taking photos. The sunrise was a cracker, the temperatures inside and outside of the water delicious, bumping into the usual suspects was my highlight and I had a tiny bit more time this morning.

Have a wonderful 4-day week and hopefully, I get to take photos again this week. Sadly, I won't be able to make tomorrow work. Early start...

Morning my friends,

Hope you are all well and ready to win the day.

This morning for a change of scenery, I ventured to my second favourite beach of the East, Bronte.

Started by the pool and finished with the Authenticity Ice Bath gang.

Alex Ross from Authenticity is an absolute legend and organises ice bath sessions every week for FREE. Yep, that’s this type of guy who loves to give back to the community. Saying this, he’s currently looking for a brand sponsor to help him and the charity he’s partnering with to pay for the ice. So if you are a marketer and sitting on a pile of cash and don’t know what to do with it, please reach out to him. He’s not asking for much. In exchange, you can brand his ice buckets and he can organise tailored events for your company. Go nuts! He deserves it.

On another note, unless you are following me or Bread on LinkedIn, you might not be aware that we are now looking for another Social Account Director to join the 🍞 team. Yep, we went BIG this time and splashed our entire recruitment budget on that sign but finding the best candidate for the job is worth it.

Morning team,

Hope you've all had a good weekend.

Slow start here, the sun popped up late around 6:30 am. It was glorious for 15-20 minutes with lights ON, then OFF for the rest of the morning.

I was with fellow Frenchies Diane and Loic to watch the show on one of their last mornings before heading back to France, then ventured down for a quick dip in South Bondi. The water was rough but the temperature was divine.

Have a great week my friends and please be warned that I won't post much this week as I'm at a conference on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Morning gang,

How's everyone doing?

If you listened to the podcast, you would have heard that over the years, I became picky and only take photos when it's worthwhile. The past few days have been pretty damn 💩 so guess what? I didn’t take any photos and I’m ok with that.

This morning, the sunrise took its time but when the sun was up, it was gorgeous. I spent my morning with my good friend Caroline, then joined my mates post-training, a quick dip in the rough water and back home.

I honestly don’t have much to say so I will leave you there. Let’s hope that tomorrow is going to be nice again. 🤞🏼

It's Friday!

Morning peeps,

How's everyone doing? Happy Friday, as they say.

This morning, the whole of Bondi was down there enjoying the sunrise. It was a late start, the sun only popped up over the clouds around 6:30 am.

People, so many of them, the Icebergs was packed, the beach was the same and all around the streets, coffee shops... Only Fridays bring the crowds like that!

Other than that, a few things to mention (for the ones that bother reading up to here)

- Chris, from @the_bondi_podcast released the first teaser of our 30 min conversation. The full episode drops on Sunday so subscribe to the podcast on Spotify or YouTube, not to miss it.

- Modibodi & Messina are giving free pairs of 🩲 and 🍦 on Saturday from 11-2 pm on Campbell Parade (around Roscoe Street). More info HERE. See you down there! 🤩

- And finally, last night, I attended the Alliance Française French Film Festival Media Launch. No, I'm not media but part of the Board of the Alliance and Festival sub-committee. That's my posh self. I always find a way to drink champagne on red carpets. Oui oui! 🇫🇷🥂🎬

I think that's enough promo for one day. #YouAintHereForThatAreYou?

Stay cool and enjoy your well-deserved weekend, you deserve it!

I woke up early pretty pumped.

It’s a big day for Bread as we are officially announcing our global partnership with Modibodi. Here is one of the articles but there are heaps more to come in the next day or so. BOOM!

Other than this, the sun showed up late, almost around 7 am. The light had a vintage sepia feel. I bumped into a few legends, snapped like a maniac for 20 minutes, and then back home for some calls.

My apologies for the late update. I’m sure you were all eagerly refreshing your feeds every two minutes to get your daily fix of Morning Bondi photos. I was just busy working - yeah, that happens sometimes and let’s be honest 🍞 (click on the emoji) will always take priority.

Morning everyone,

Great weekend? Stunning weather, that’s for sure!

Woke-up early as I wanted to squeeze a run before sunrise. I arrived right on time for the show.

With the wind blowing and the wild surf, the sunrise was pretty spectacular. Took a few photos around the Bergs, yeah, I know, I’m a creature of habit… then joined my mates in North Bondi for the workout finisher and swim.

Morning my friends,

Happy Friday, as they say.

What a cracking sunrise! Did you see it? Well worth the early alarm clock.

I joined my mate Loic Puyo (fellow Frenchy and ex-pro soccer player) in the surf. It was the perfect morning for it.

Now let's be honest, taking photos in the surf is the most challenging thing that you can do.

Here is what's going on:

- You are swimming while taking photos with a pretty heavy housing (thank god the OM-System water housing is pretty light. Yeah, I’ve been sponsored by OM-System (formerly called Olympus) for the past 7 years and am very proud to say it.)

- As you want to be in the middle of the action, you are getting hammered by the waves and dodging surfers coming straight at you.

- You constantly have droplets on the port so you need a homemade squeegee as large as your port to clean it.

- After a while, the housing can get foggy because of the temperature difference between outside and inside the water.

- After 45 minutes in the water, you feel like you've done a triathlon...

All this to say, if you see great photos taken in the surf (not talking about mine here), you should double appreciate them and double like them.

That's it for today, enjoy your weekend.

Xoxo

Amo

PS: In case, you didn’t see my Story last night, we are looking for a Social Media Manager to join Bread Agency. Check the post that I put up last night on my LinkedIn (Fun, yeah?) and the job ad here. If it's you or know someone get in touch...

Sun of a beach

Morning gang,

How’s everyone today?

I was awake by 4:30 am this morning. Don’t ask me why. Probably because I knew that the sun was coming back into town. Gosh, it feels good to see some sunshine again!

The sunrise was sun-sational, the temperatures outside and inside the water perfect, the people all around happy and I bumped into heaps of friends. Life is good! Hope you had a great morning too.

Last night, I had a chat with Chris from The Bondi Podcast, 20 minutes of me talking about ‘Morning Bondi’. The episode should come up in the next two weeks. Honestly, I’m not even sure if what I was saying was interesting or even making any sense. If you like my morning blurbs then you might like it. If you are only here for the photos, you might fall asleep - fair enough.

Have a cracking day my friends and chat tomorrow,

Morning my friends,

[UPDATE TO THE BELOW POST: As Lifeguard Harrison Reid mentioned in the comment section on Instagram, this was a fake alert, just a swimmer that left his belongings overnight and people thought that he committed suicide. My apologies for the fake news, definitely not my intention to do something like that but the message remains the same, please look after yourselves and check on your mates.]

Hope you are well. My apologies for the radio silence the past few days but between being busy with work and the average sunrises I didn't take any photos.

This morning was glorious but sadly we woke up with the sight of a helicopter looking for a body lost at sea. Earlier today, someone decided to take their own life by jumping from the cliff of South Bondi.

This is honestly devastating to witness. I appreciate that some people can go through rough patches but life is too precious to do this.

If you ever feel down, chat with your family and friends, mental fitness organisations such as Lifeline Australia (Call 13 11 14), Beyond Blue (Call 1300 22 4636), join some of the local Mental Fitness Communities that I listed out in this blog post or you can even reach out to me directly, I would happily listen and aim to support you.

Please take care of yourselves, life is too short not to live it to its fullest and check in with your friends and family.

Lots of love ❤️🫶🏼❤️

Morning gang,

How’s everyone today? How was your weekend? What a glorious weather we had!

This morning, I joined my mates for training down at the bars in North Bondi. It’s funny how I didn’t miss training the past 8 months but it’s always fun when you do it with mates and you feel like a million bucks afterwards. I mean, not right now, even sitting at my desk hurts…

I have said it before and I’m ready to cope with all your criticism but let’s be honest at sunrise North Bondi is not as nice as South Bondi. It’s fabulous on Fridays with the Murphs, Salties, Knoxys and the Bondi Swim Club, otherwise, there is not that much activity compared to the South End. Yeah? Am I right?

Morning gang,

How’s everyone today?

This morning was a real cracker. Sunrise was nice, light was on point, surf was alright but more importantly I bumped into so many people. And, let’s be honest that’s what I love the most about my Morning Bondi routine…

Over the past 13 years doing Morning Bondi, I have met 1,000+ people down the beach and for someone like me that is very much what we call a ‘people person’ (not a big fan of this terminology), this is heaven.

The Bondi Community especially in the morning is second to none. I doubt that there are that many communities in the world like that, definitely not Paris, where I originally come from. You will be lucky if someone smiles at you, so a random ‘Bonjour’ would be merely impossible. Ok, I tend to exaggerate a little but you got the point.

Have a cracking day and enjoy the sunshine, I certainly won’t. I’ve been back at work since the 2nd and it’s busy (not a big fan of this word too but I haven’t found a better one to date).
