Bondi Bather

Morning my friends,

Well well well... It would be lying if I was telling that today was a cracker! It wasn't really, just a very calm and peaceful Monday morning with not much happening except probably my friend Kerry from Bondi Bather getting interviewed by Sunrise, Channel 7.

Kerry Cusack started Bondi Bather a few years ago, by using local photographers photos and printing them on bikinis. Her shop used to be in the same street as I was living, Roscoe Street and has now moved to Gould Street, the best shopping street in Bondi Beach with brands like Venroy, Orlebar Brown, Tuchuzy for the ladies, Academy Brand... and Saturdays NYC a bit further up.

Anyway, Kerry is killing it and her collections have evolved, being recognised globally and Bondi Bather is now part of the same group as Jets Swimwear (The PAS Group). Good on you Kerry - very proud of you!

Morning my friends,

Happy Friday! 

Today was probably a bit less spectacular than the last few days but I was with most of my mates so it didn't really matter to be honest.

We joined for coffee at Chapter One, our meeting point and then headed to Morning Bondi HQ, which is the platform above the public toilets South Bondi (I know, sexy, right?!) for some chit chats and photos. Basically, what Morning Bondi is all about: spending some quality time with my mates before heading to work.

On a more serious note, a friend asked me to help out and share the following. After looking at the cause and the beautiful short film, I didn't hesitate for a minute. Today is International Missing Children’s Day and some film industry dads in Sydney got together to make an impactful little film and a website for parents to learn more about child protection. Morning my friends,

Another day another late one... My apologies but squeezing everything before heading to work can sometimes be a bit challenging. 

The moment I arrive home, I start my amazing race, getting ready for work, brekkie, uploading photos, selecting the best ones out of 170-200 photos, looking after my daughter, light editing of the photos, exporting the best ones, changing my daughter's nappy, washing my hands, writing my blog post (yes I'm talking about the cr*p that you are currently reading), making the bed, writing the Facebook status, the Tweet, cleaning my breakfast table, selecting the best photo for Instagram, uploading the Insta Story, getting the newsletter ready, taking the rubbish out... and heading to work!

I'm tired just by writing this... 

Anyway today was beautiful once again.

Morning my friends,

How's everyone today? Good night sleep? Mine was pretty rubbish if you want to know. At the moment my body clock wakes me up everyday around 4:30am. Very annoying! 

Anyway, who cares about my sleep (except me), I joined my mate Paul for a jungle gym sesh, then the usual coffee and photos.

Trust me there is never a dull moment in Bondi, this morning we were welcomed by a Bin Bouquet. As I was saying earlier this morning on Instagram, an amazing initiative by Sean Cook (@mrcookthefloristwhich) He's recycling flowers from past events and decorates bins with them. I don't know if you are like me but it's that type of actions that I believe restore faith in humanity. Good on you mate! 🙌🏼 It actually made me so happy that I decided to interview him, check my Instagram Story by clicking on my profile pic.

Unfortunately, this beautiful art installation didn't stay long and has already been removed by the Waverley Council. Don't you think that they focus their efforts on the wrong things? Shouldn't they remove all the crap around the streets or fixing the jungle gym water tap before getting rid of beautiful flowers? Anyway... 

On another interesting note, the shark alarm went off again this morning (second time in a month) and trust me in no time, all the surfers were out of the water. Great show to watch!

Morning my friends,

MMM for Marvellous Monday Morning. That's right, it was just amazing this morning and very quiet so only a few had a chance to witness the incredible sunrise. 

I'm far from being a futurist or a meteorologist but this morning when I arrived down the beach at 6am I could predict that it was going to be a cracker. The horizon line was already looking pretty spectacular with some thin clouds all over the beach.

I ran from Bondi to Bronte and back in less than 25 minutes (not showing off here, actually a tiny bit) but I just didn't want to miss it and I did well.

Morning my friends,

After a fairly busy week at work, between launching three new websites, working on two pitches at the same time and the PRIA workshop, I was just happy to spend some quality time with my wife and daughter. We ventured down the beach quite late, around 7am and stay for a bit less than an hour - time to take a coffee, a quick stroll and a swim for me.

Morning my friends,

Wow this morning was extremely windy... When I arrived down the beach, it was pretty rough and not very enjoyable so we end up hiding behind a wall to do boxing. 

The sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds all morning. I obviously concentrated the majority of the photos when the sun was out.

Other than this, please don't expect photos from me tomorrow as I have an early start. For the ones that don't know, I work in Social Media and tomorrow I will be teaching 30 people how to design and implement a social strategy. Morning my friends,

What a morning! It was just incrediiiiible down there...

As I was putting on Instagram and Facebook, my apologies for the late update but busy morning with heaps of meetings and I took probably too much shots to chose from. 

The waves were incredible with heaps of surfers making the most of them. The usual gang was there obviously: Joel Pilgrim, Chris Little, Chris Friendy, Tom Naylor... 

On another note, if you are into meditation, yoga and relaxation. One of my friends is organising this event on the 31st of May. It's a 90-minute full moon Sound Healing journey where you will experience the magical healing waves of our 300-year-old Tibetan singing bowls. I have no idea what that means but I'm sure it's very pleasurable! ;)

Today started like a fairy tale... The sunrise kept on giving. The colours in the sky were out of this world. 

When I arrived down the beach I could tell that it was going to be a cracker but I never imagined that it was going to be as magnificent and last as long neither.

Happy Hump(s) Day! I know I tend to repeat myself a fair bit but it's hard not to... This morning was pretty amazing down there!

As every Wednesday, we did boxing with Paolito. After throwing a few jabs, we hit the coffee shop, then a few photos and swim. 

There were a few waves and as always 100's of surfers on them - tots Bondi style if you ask me. You need to be ready to share a ride if you want to surf around here.

Another day another cracker... #BOOM!

If you live in Sydney, hope you had a chance to see it. We were training very hard at the jungle gym (more talks than exercises really) when the sky decided to turn all pink. Amazing show!

This time of the year is famous for the mad sunrises. Why? No idea! But if you finally decide to come down the beach before work, it's definitely the right time of the year before it gets too cold and not as inspiring.

I was with my mates Bertie, Carlos, Paul, Simon & Julius - happy days! Catching up with mates before work, the best way to start your day! Plus bumping into all the morning crew is a bonus! 

Then, I went down for a few photos in the water with my sexy Olympus underwater case. Thanks again to the fine team from Olympus Australia for helping me capture the morning goodness! 

I guess that's it for today... Now off to work for a fairly busy day!

Bonjour my friends,

How was your weekend guys?

Mine was fantastic, I had a mate from France who was there for 24 hours in Sydney. I know a bit short but he loved it and that makes me very happy. Obviously I had to show him what Morning Bondi is all about so on Saturday morning that's exactly what we did.

This morning was crisp but amazing. The temperature outside is definitely dropping, however it is still amazing in the water.

Morning my friends, 

What a ripper! The first lights were just amazing - the sky was all orange & pink, it looked unreal!

We actually had to stop boxing for 10 minutes to take photos with Paul as we knew it was not going to last long. Glad we did - very much worth it.

Today, there was another reaper (not ripper): The Swim Reaper hanging out South Bondi. You will get it when you see the last photo of the day. A clever campaign coming from our Kiwi friends to talk about water safety. You can read more about it on this website and give him a follow on Insta.

On another more positive note, I just wanted to thank again the lovely Annie who left me a very lovely comment on yesterday's post. As I commented back, it's thanks to your daily support and lovely comments that I receive almost everyday that I keep the passion alive. Thank you guys! You bloody legends!

This morning at 5:30am, it was a bit nippy. It took us 8 rounds of push-pull-abs exercises to finally warm up a little. Autumn is definitely settling-in nicely...

Waves. There were heaps! A bit straight but god I would have loved to have my board with me. All the usual suspects were out there scoring them...

On another note, the declining reach of Facebook & Instagram is killing me... Morning Bondi is a hobby and will always be one so I refuse to pay to promote posts. The best way to make sure that you don't miss an update is to subscribe to the newsletter. Promise, you won't regret it!

How was your weekend? Wet & wild? Mine was wet... wild not so much!  

This morning when we arrived down the beach, as the sky was pretty threatening, we played it safe and just did some South Bondi to North Bondi laps. We were a bit scared to get drenched by going to Bronte. 

It ended up being pretty nice from 7:15 to 7:30, when I took the majority of the photos. Then the rain started around 8am. 

This time, as it happens quite often to be honest, the early risers were the winners... You sleep you lose! That's what people say...

Morning peeps,

Today was smokin' and when I say this I mean it... There must have been a bush fire somewhere as it was smelling smoke.

Smoke means epic sunrise and that's exactly what we had this morning. It all started pretty grey but when the sun popped up it was just incredible. I took 300 photos this morning, hence the late update, way too many to chose from.

On another news, the shark alarm went off this morning. A hammer head was spotted North Bondi. Size? Bigger than a rescue board! What?! Basically we are talking 9 feet. Decent size! All the surfers went out of the water and Michael, Bondi Lifeguards, went out to go and try the shark with his jet ski.

What a great morning!

How are you today?! Today was pretty cloudy but I'm talking nice clouds not the ones that call the rain, more the ones that you want to look at and take photos of. 

This morning, we did a speedy session at the jungle gym, then what we do best: coffee, photos and swim. Today, we were also joined by my friends Amélie and Erik coming all the way from Paris and keen to experience what Morning Bondi is all about. They loved it! Of course, who wouldn't want to hang out with mates and do all the above before heading to work?!

MONDAY

Morning peeps,

How was your weekend?! Mine was pretty damn good. 

We went out on Saturday night with a few friends for our good mate Hamish who was back in town for one night only. Hamish used to be part of the Morning Bondi crew but deserted to go and live in HK. We had dinner at the new Panama House in The Pacific building - not bad at all, we took the $65 set menu and food was pretty generous. The bill too but that's probably because we had way too much to drink. Here is a photo of our Saturday night - how cool is that! 

Then Sunday was pretty relaxed and cured our hangovers at the rocks North Bondi. See all the Stories on Morning Bondi Insta and my personal The Olympus waterhousing is just amazing - it helps me capture all the fun!  

Today I was by myself so went for a run and a few photos in places around Bondi where I've never been.

Morning Bondi!

What a fantastic start of the day! When I looked at the weather forecast last night, it was saying chances of rain in the morning - lucky they got it wrong! 

Too tired to exercise, I just went down for the fun bits: coffee, photos and swim with my good mates Julius and Paul.

The sunrise was a cracker, the light bright and the water incredible. That's the way I like it...

Other than this, one of the best coffee shop for breakfast and lunch in Bondi just featured me on their page. Such a lovely gesture! Thanks for the kind words Julie & Seb!
