Sun-sational morning down there...

You can tell that Autumn is around the corner, at 5:30am when I wake up, it's actually a bit chilly outside and the light starts to be really interesting. By the way, if you don't know yet, Autumn is actually the best season for sunrises.

Anyway, went to the jungle gym with Paul & Patrick (P&P) and then coffee, drone, photos with Bruno and finished by a swim in South Bondi. Water was amazing!

Today is a really special day for me, or actually should I say for my daughter. She is turning one. One year that she's in our life... It's crazy how time flies!

I spent my morning with my wife and daughter down the beach and only took a few shots of what was around us.

Morning peeps,

Wow today is going to be a hot one... I went down later than usual as I was with my little one. It was really warm out there and add a small heater in the Babybjörn and you basically lose 5 kilos just by standing in the sun.

Love those Friday mornings, happy people all around, patches of fluro in the surf with all the guys from OneWave and the Icebergs is super clear.

Morning guys,

Today, the light was incredible and the sunrise pretty spectacular.

As every Thursday we went to the jungle gym for some push/pull/abs exercise, not much fun, then coffee, photos and swim South Bondi.

Now I'm pumped to go to work... Hope you had a great morning too!

Morning folks,

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Mine was not bad at all, thanks for asking! ;) All started with winning a massive pitch at work, then the first steps of my daughter, followed by Gun's & Roses concert, drinks with friends, Icebergs swim with the family and ended with the first birthday party of one of my daughter's friends.

This morning was just incredible, sunrise tops, waves amazeball and water temp just perfect!

Morning guys,

Wow what a morning! Today was just sun-sational!!

You wouldn't believe it but I even went up to Bronte Beach to see the sunrise - quite unusual for me to venture that far from Bondi (3kms). The Bronte pool at 6am was already packed of people that wanted to cool off. 23 degrees at sunrise and it's meant to go up to 36 degrees today...

Other than this, I just wanted to share with you this super cool interview that I had with the guys from Campbell & Hall about my last 5 years running Morning Bondi. Thanks a lot to Cat and the rest of team for this great opportunity!

What a morning!! Once the clouds and the light rain gone, it was just magnificent out there. I could hardly see what I was taking photos of - it was so bright!

No training for me this morning, so just here for the fun bits, joined Julius & Bruno for coffee, then photos and swim. Loved it!

Moody Hump Day

Hey guys,

How is everyone today? What a wild weather we had yesterday, my Facebook was flooded (no pun intended) with videos and photos of rain.

Today was moody and windy but pretty amazing show. I went down there to meet my mate Bruno from Le Cut Studio, long chat and great laugh.

We all know that swimming in Bondi can be dangerous but after watching this video I finally realised how bad it could be. Great job to the guys in blue (Bondi Lifeguards) and the guys in yellow (Bondi Lifesavers) for keeping us safe!

OMG! This morning was a cracker.

Did you sleep well last night with this heat? Probably not... The beach was packed at 5:30am, so many early birds going in the water to cool off.

No training for me this morning, way too hot and my running partner bailed. I just took some photos whilst Bruno was droning then I went for a swim with my daughter and my wife - perfect morning!

Morning my friends,

That's right the photos are not from this morning, it was far from being an inspiring morning down there and to be honest after half a decade of taking photos everyday of the beach, sometimes you can allow yourself a cheat day.

That's right, 5 years that I have started Morning Bondi!! Incredible! How do I know? LinkedIn just reminded it to me by celebrating my "work anniversary". Not really work, more a "hobby anniversary" that fits quite nicely with my lifestyle. Thanks so much guys for the ongoing support, I still can't believe all the love that I have received for all these years. You rock my friends!

For all the ones that have been following Morning Bondi for quite a while, you would know about my obsession for the Bondi Icebergs. I take photos of it almost everyday. I love it when it's full of people, magical, in summer or in winter, when it's almost still or when it's getting hammered by the waves crashing. One of my favourite shots of all time is actually one of the Icebergs: 'First in, first ripples'.

The photos below are photos that I took last Saturday. We went for a morning swim with my wife and daughter. I usually don't take photos on weekends but this time I had to make an exception.

Wow that was a lot to write, I'm exhausted... ;)

Morning my friends!

Brace yourself folks it's going to be another hot one in Sydney. It was already 26 degrees at 5:30am and it's going to go up to 35 degrees apparently. Either you are lucky and you can spend your time in the water or like me you are actually glad to go the office and stay in the AC all day. ;)

We went for a gym sesh with the gang, to do reps of push/pull/abs exercises - just to be able to drink more beers on weekends really, then swim in NoBo (North Bondi for the hipsters) and up to SoBo (South Bondi) for coffee.

Life is a beach my friends I can tell you...

Hot, sticky & hazy - that was what this morning was all about.

When I arrived down the beach at 6am, I couldn't see North Bondi, the haze was all over the place. Pretty special morning if you ask me.

We went for a run up to Dudley Page Reserve in Dover Heights with Patrick then back to Chapter One for coffee and swim with Julius.

Today was unusually quiet down there - especially for a Friday.

Was it because we are post-Australia Day and most people took the day off or because of the moody weather?!

Anyway I went down there with my daughter for our usual coffee & photos, caught up with a few mates and back home.

Summer, where are you today?! Gone for the day but should be back tomorrow for Straya Day! That's all it matters really.

The morning was well pretty grey BUT I was with my daughter, my mates and the colours of the water was incredible. Always trying to see the positive side of things.

Have a good one my friends and tomorrow don't expect photos, I will have a little sleep in and enjoy Australia Day like everyone else.

OMG! What a stunning morning down there!

The colours in the sky and the crystal clear water were just unreal. I actually had to stop from exercising to grab my camera and take a snap (the first one) - too good to miss out!

As every Tuesday we went jungle gymming in North Bondi then decided to go for a run-swim-run just for fun (it was actually not fun at all!) and then the usual coffee & photos all the way South Bondi.

One hour.

This morning I only stayed an hour down the beach which is quite rare - I usually spend between an hour and half and two hours every morning.

In this one hour, we succeeded to squeeze in so much: run up to Bronte and back, coffee at Chapter One, photos & drone and swim. So nice! Hope you had a great morning too.

Tonight from 6:30 to 8:30pm, the Bondi Surf Club is organising their first Community Talk Series -it's going be about Sun and Beach Safety with Dr John de Launey and Bruce Hopkins ‘Hoppo’. It's free and it promises to be good fun. You can read more about it here.

I know it has nothing to do with this morning but this is how old my daughter is today. Time flies! To celebrate her monthbirthday, I went down the beach with her. She loves it!

Caught-up with Hamish, Julius and Simon at the coffee shop then photos and quick walk on the sand - unfortunately no swim today. No worries, I will go afterwork. We have what we call our Summer Fridays, finishing at 3pm every Fridays during Summer. How good is that?!

Les archives. Another day, another rainy day… As I could see it was not raining, I ventured down much later than usual, around 6:45 am. I just arrived and a light drizzle started. What are the chances?! I joined my mates for a quick dip in the ocean and coffee at Chapter One (my unofficial gallery, they have five of my prints on the wall). Still worth going out, if you ask me… Have a great day my friends and stay warm as it’s a bit nippy at the moment. Ciao, Amo PS: I’m going camping this weekend with a bunch of mates but pretty sure I don’t have the right equipment to cope with the cold. I only have a summer sleeping bag… It’s going to be fun, they say. 🤦🏽‍♂️🥶

Rainy days. Do you know what rainy days mean? It means archive days. Here are photos from the past couple of months, most of them were my second favourite ones so you wouldn’t have seen them before. As you know, I love doing my Morning Bondi routine but it actually takes so much time. I’m talking about the photo bit especially. At the moment, I take photos from 6:30ish when the sun is up for roughly 30-40 minutes, then selection of the good photos for 20 mins, light edit the best ones for 10 mins, then write the morning blurb for 3-5 mins (I tend not to overthink this, as you can tell), then upload of each individual photos on the blog for 10 minutes, then newsletter for 5 minutes, then Instagram for 3 minutes, Facebook 3 minutes and Instagram Story 3 minutes. Basically, around 1.5 hours on average. So yes sometimes, I’m glad when it’s raining as I’m saving so much time. Have a beautiful day, despite the weather, and chat with you tomorrow, Xoxo Amo

Golden Sea. Slow start this morning, it was pretty average unless you could wait up to 8am (I couldn’t) to see the sun popping out behind the curtain of clouds. It was all about the golden reflection of the hidden sun on the water. Gold 24-carat for a few minutes. I don’t have much to tell you today except that if you live locally and love ‘Shark Tank’ TV show, you will love the local version of it. It’s called the Bondi Innovation Shark Tank organised by the @bondichamber and it’s next Wednesday at @hotelravesis You can find all the deets in the media release and book your tickets on the blog. I’m going with my awesome business partner Mary Proulx and supporting Sam Cust, one of the sharks (I think that’s what we call them). If you come down, let’s have a beer and break bread (what I love the most about our business name is that the puns are endless). I loaf you! (see) Amo

Nothing to worry about, it's just a tornado off North Bondi, ... 🌪️😲 I took this photo this morning around 9:30 am. I was shooting with @versefinejewellery in South Bondi when we saw this waterspout tornado coming out of nowhere. Scary much? Look closely and you can see the person around Ben Buckler's cliffs running for his life... That's all folks!

Pure Heaven. What another beautiful start to the day! While yesterday was all about big waves, today was all about the mad reflo on the sand - absolutely stunning. I was sitting just next to Morning Bondi HQ and was snapping like a maniac. Low-tide goodness. What a stunning morning! Today was all about the low-tide gold reflection. It was just the perfect conditions for photos. The problem, only a few people out including two metal hunters. I was with fellow Frenchy @dianeperreau all morning. I reckon she’s the most popular French person in Sydney. So many people are stopping her every morning to have a chat and take a selfie with her. Have a lovely day my friends, Ciao, Amo

Into the wild. What a cracker of a morning! For a change of scenery, I ventured down to Bronte this morning. I reckon I made the right choice, it was just an incredible show. I was with my mate @paolocattaneophoto for the entire morning and we were just looking at the waves rolling in. Bronte Pool was the best place in da house. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen the very rare video of me talking to the camera. With @bread_agency, my agency, I recently started working with the team from @in2thewild.aus, the best tiny houses business around. In order to have a better understanding of the experience, the client kindly invited me to go for a couple of days with my wife and daughter. Real legends, best onboarding! The whole experience was amazing - especially for someone like me that is pretty hyperactive. I just ‘re-wilded’ for two days. Even though the network was working where we were, I put my phone in airplane mode the whole weekend and made the most of the experience. The tiny house was kitted with all the things that you need, all the products in there are premium and sourced from ethical brands. Let’s be honest the firepit and outdoor bath were the highlights for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you are like me and struggle to switch off. FriYay. How’s everyone today? After two days in Melbs (Melbourne for the hipsters), I’m back in the hood. What a morning! Incredible light, the surf was ON and the Icebergs was packed - perfect for photo ops. This morning I caught up with my mate Ben, a fellow Frenchy that I haven’t seen for years. We hung out around the Bergs and finished with a swim in South Bondi - how original. Enjoy your weekends my friends. Mine is going to be pretty epic. I’m going into the wild, literally.
