Humps Day!

Morning friends,

Happy Humps Day! Yes, there were heaps of humps today...

I went down the beach with my daughter Charlotte to join my good mate Paul for coffee and very quick photos. It was looking magnificent down there and not that many people around...

This is officially the last day of Summer, Autumn is kicking tomorrow which means pretty epic sunrises and less people around. Believe me, it's usually the best time of the year to take photos. I don't know why but in the last 6 years of Morning Bondi, it's definitely something that I have noticed. Most of my Sunrises collection was shot in Autumn.

Morning my friends,

Happy Friday!

As I posted last night on Instagram, this morning I had some good intentions to go in the water to take some shots but unfortunately it didn't go to plan. While I was about to leave the house at 5:30am, my daughter Charlotte woke up with a massive cough so I had to look after her instead - poor girl!

Instead, I went down late, after the first lights to join my mates for coffee and swim. I'm glad I did as it was actually looking pretty amazing around 7:15ish. Here are all the shots that I took in literally 10 minutes. Basically, it was not bright and early but bright and late ;)

Other than this a friend of a friend has done a pretty cool video about the Bondi Beach Brutes gang, the guys that hang out at the North Bondi jungle gym on weekends to do amazing gym sesh and compare muscles. Here it is Bodies of Bondi featuring the very famous Dimitri & Marcus. Where are you Stan? Good work Tom!

Magnificent Monday

Morning my friends,

Hope you had a great weekend and scored some waves.

This morning was just magnificent, between the mist and the incredible sunrise, it was just a fantastic show to watch. Lucky, all this happened just after our interval run to Bronte and back. Tough to run under this temperature but I guess you feel good afterwards...

The water temperature dropped a little since this weekend but it's still the right time of the year to go for a morning dip.

Asides from this, not much to say, so I will leave you with the ten photos below.

Pink Paradise

Morning my friends,

This morning was a cracker! The pink clouds were just incredible - hope you had a chance to witness it.

We did some hill sprints, push-up and plank action with Bertie behind the Bergs. Great way to finish off the week, once again it was hot and sticky but ehh we are not going to complain...

The swim to cool off was incredible, the water temperature divine and the water clarity out of this world.

Morning my friends,

Happy Valentine's Day to all the lovers and the ones looking for the one.

This morning was all about bursts, it all started by a burst of pink in the sky and then grey and a burst of sun and back to grey. You really had to pick the right time to take photos as it was only lasting a few minutes.

Other than this, yesterday I was invited to a pretty cool event organised by the talented Luc Wiesman, the guy behind Dmarge at the Tag Heuer flagship. It was all about the Art Of The TAG Heuer 'Calibre Heuer 01' in-house movement. If you are a watch nerd like me you would have loved it. Morning guys,

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Mine was pretty amazing, spent the entire weekend with eleven mates in Copacabana, next to Avoca Beach for a surf weekend. While it was pretty flat around Bondi Beach, the waves were pumping over there!

This morning, too knacked to train, I just went down for photos, coffee and swim with my mate Dave. The water is delicious at the moment, well worth going for a dip guys.

Morning peeps,

OMG! I know, I tend to repeat myself these days but today was just incredible. We truly live in paradise!

No mates with me this morning so I ventured down to Bronte pool to take some photos. I picked the right day for it, the sunrise was incredible, there were heaps of people in the pool (ie. heaps of photo opportunities) and it was Friday so everyone had a smile on their face.

What a cracker! A typical Aussie expression that means "insane" / "crazy". Perfect word to describe this morning!

My apologies for the late update but I had an early meeting this morning, so no time to put the blog post together. This morning, I went down the beach to join my mate Simon for coffee, quick photos and dip in the ocean.

What can I say, it was just a perfect morning... and so hard to leave the beach!!

Pure Bliss

Morning guys,

What an amazing morning! I spent my whole morning in the ocean taking photos of the waves and surfers around me.

I reckon I picked the right day for it, the sunrise was a cracker, the water delicious and there were some waves. A bit dumpy to be honest but well worth a paddle if you don't fear breaking your board in half, like me last weekend. My beloved Softlite foamie is gone... Perfect timing for my surf weekend in two days!

Morning gang,

Hope you all had a good night sleep or a great day for my overseas friends.

Wow, today Bondi was packed. I'm not sure the exact reason except probably that it was just a beautiful morning down there. There were runners, walkers, jungle gymmers, surfers, photographers and lazy f***ers (sorry, I had to do the rhyme!)

Other than this, thanks for all your kind messages about the AirBnB gig, I really appreciate it. And my apologies for yesterday's newsletter there were a lot of typos, that I have now fixed on the blog but can't do on the newsletter once it's sent! ;( The thing is that I try to squeeze everything before I head to work so I tend to rush the writing bit.

I know what you are going to tell me, usually the "Fab" and "Monday" don't necessarily go well together but trust me this time was an exception.

The sunrise was a cracker. Unfortunately, I was running at that time so didn't have my camera with me but don't you worry the rest of the morning was not bad neither. We went up to Bronte and back, then coffee, photos and swim. Love this routine! Actually, it's been 6 years that I'm doing it...

I don't know if you remember but a few months ago, the guys from AirBnB reached out to see if I would be interested in taking part of their new Experiences program - which I obviously accepted. Cloudy Paradise

Morning my friends,

If you are into clouds, this photo album is dedicated to you. What a fantastic morning!

To be honest I wasn't expecting much especially after last night's rain but I did well by managing to get out of bed at 5:30am and go straight to the beach.

I was meant to train but when I saw how good it was I couldn't resist to take more and more photos. Hope you like them.

Other than this, for the ones that received my first newsletter yesterday good on you and thanks for all your feedback, I will implement them in today's one to be sent very soon.

As I was saying yesterday in the newsletter (sorry for the repeat), the main reason that triggered me to do it is that social platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have dramatically reduced the reach of my posts and therefore a lot of you don't see the posts anymore in your feeds. I know, what a shame!

As expected the southerly wind kicked in last night and therefore the beach was pretty uninspiring this morning. You can check it on my Instagram Story if you really fancy seeing Bondi Beach under a grey sky @MorningBondi

Knowing how bad the weather was going to be I went down to the beach last night with my wife and daughter. I know, tough life, right?!

I actually forgot how beautiful it is at that time of the day too. It definitely motivated us to do it more often!

Oh my god, when your day starts like this, it's just priceless... It was just magnificent down there!

We went down to the jungle gym with my mate Carlos, we took it pretty easy, then what we do best: coffee, chit chat, photos for me and swim. Very hard to beat a morning like this!

Hope you had a chance to go down for a swim if you live locally or somewhere else in the world where you have access to the ocean or a pool. ;)

Morning my friends,

Hope you all had a great weekend and a fantastic Australia Day for my Aussie friends.

It's so good to have a three day weekend, you get to do way more than a normal weekend. The highlight was probably my Sunday at the Royal National Park. We packed picnic, beach tent and went there with my wife and daughter. We were only three in the water surfing, I basically caught all the waves that I wanted. Yew!

This morning was pretty amazing, really contrasty between the dark clouds, the dark blue ocean and the beautiful yellow light. I went for a run from Bondi to Bronte, coffee, photos and swim. All by myself for once!

Today was very humid and hot - ie. sticky. The sunrise is pretty late these days 6:10am so you can sleep in and you are not going to miss it. #Winning.

This morning, I went for a Bondi to Bronte run, smashed it in 22 minutes then joined my mates for coffee and swim with Bruno.

Today it was extremely peaceful down there... No harsh light, not much contrast, just everything was pretty grey and there were not that many people around. Just the usual crew really...

No training this morning, just joined my mates for coffee, photos and swim. Easy peasy!

This morning I gone wild and by this I mean I ventured down to Bronte Beach to take photos down the pool. I know, not that crazy but just needed a change of scenery...

It was so nice down there and the sunrise was a cracker. Once again, I got a bit excited and took thousands of photos with my Olympus water housing.

Les archives. Another day, another rainy day… As I could see it was not raining, I ventured down much later than usual, around 6:45 am. I just arrived and a light drizzle started. What are the chances?! I joined my mates for a quick dip in the ocean and coffee at Chapter One (my unofficial gallery, they have five of my prints on the wall). Still worth going out, if you ask me… Have a great day my friends and stay warm as it’s a bit nippy at the moment. Ciao, Amo PS: I’m going camping this weekend with a bunch of mates but pretty sure I don’t have the right equipment to cope with the cold. I only have a summer sleeping bag… It’s going to be fun, they say. 🤦🏽‍♂️🥶

Rainy days. Do you know what rainy days mean? It means archive days. Here are photos from the past couple of months, most of them were my second favourite ones so you wouldn’t have seen them before. As you know, I love doing my Morning Bondi routine but it actually takes so much time. I’m talking about the photo bit especially. At the moment, I take photos from 6:30ish when the sun is up for roughly 30-40 minutes, then selection of the good photos for 20 mins, light edit the best ones for 10 mins, then write the morning blurb for 3-5 mins (I tend not to overthink this, as you can tell), then upload of each individual photos on the blog for 10 minutes, then newsletter for 5 minutes, then Instagram for 3 minutes, Facebook 3 minutes and Instagram Story 3 minutes. Basically, around 1.5 hours on average. So yes sometimes, I’m glad when it’s raining as I’m saving so much time. Have a beautiful day, despite the weather, and chat with you tomorrow, Xoxo Amo

Golden Sea. Slow start this morning, it was pretty average unless you could wait up to 8am (I couldn’t) to see the sun popping out behind the curtain of clouds. It was all about the golden reflection of the hidden sun on the water. Gold 24-carat for a few minutes. I don’t have much to tell you today except that if you live locally and love ‘Shark Tank’ TV show, you will love the local version of it. It’s called the Bondi Innovation Shark Tank organised by the @bondichamber and it’s next Wednesday at @hotelravesis You can find all the deets in the media release and book your tickets on the blog. I’m going with my awesome business partner Mary Proulx and supporting Sam Cust, one of the sharks (I think that’s what we call them). If you come down, let’s have a beer and break bread (what I love the most about our business name is that the puns are endless). I loaf you! (see) Amo

Nothing to worry about, it's just a tornado off North Bondi, ... 🌪️😲 I took this photo this morning around 9:30 am. I was shooting with @versefinejewellery in South Bondi when we saw this waterspout tornado coming out of nowhere. Scary much? Look closely and you can see the person around Ben Buckler's cliffs running for his life... That's all folks!

Pure Heaven. What another beautiful start to the day! While yesterday was all about big waves, today was all about the mad reflo on the sand - absolutely stunning. I was sitting just next to Morning Bondi HQ and was snapping like a maniac. Low-tide goodness. What a stunning morning! Today was all about the low-tide gold reflection. It was just the perfect conditions for photos. The problem, only a few people out including two metal hunters. I was with fellow Frenchy @dianeperreau all morning. I reckon she’s the most popular French person in Sydney. So many people are stopping her every morning to have a chat and take a selfie with her. Have a lovely day my friends, Ciao, Amo

Into the wild. What a cracker of a morning! For a change of scenery, I ventured down to Bronte this morning. I reckon I made the right choice, it was just an incredible show. I was with my mate @paolocattaneophoto for the entire morning and we were just looking at the waves rolling in. Bronte Pool was the best place in da house. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen the very rare video of me talking to the camera. With @bread_agency, my agency, I recently started working with the team from @in2thewild.aus, the best tiny houses business around. In order to have a better understanding of the experience, the client kindly invited me to go for a couple of days with my wife and daughter. Real legends, best onboarding! The whole experience was amazing - especially for someone like me that is pretty hyperactive. I just ‘re-wilded’ for two days. Even though the network was working where we were, I put my phone in airplane mode the whole weekend and made the most of the experience. The tiny house was kitted with all the things that you need, all the products in there are premium and sourced from ethical brands. Let’s be honest the firepit and outdoor bath were the highlights for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you are like me and struggle to switch off. They are running a Winter Campaign which is all about swapping your usual beach days for days in the wild. Monday Madness. This is a very late update compared to usual but busy day today. This morning was just nuts down the beach. I only took a few photos before having to rush to an early meeting in the city. The swell should still be here tomorrow, so go and have a look if you can. Xoxo Amo

FriYay. How’s everyone today? After two days in Melbs (Melbourne for the hipsters), I’m back in the hood. What a morning! Incredible light, the surf was ON and the Icebergs was packed - perfect for photo ops. This morning I caught up with my mate Ben, a fellow Frenchy that I haven’t seen for years. We hung out around the Bergs and finished with a swim in South Bondi - how original. Enjoy your weekends my friends. Mine is going to be pretty epic. I’m going into the wild, literally.
