First day of Winter

Morning crew,

OMG!

What a start to the winter season!

The sunrise was just incredible. It started all pink and went bright orange for 10-15 minutes. The dolphins also turn up again this morning. The temperature outside was totally bearable and the water was amazing.

Did you see it? If not don't you worry, that's what I'm here for.

Have a lovely day,

Splashes in the bay

Morning peeps,

Another day, another cracker!

No whales on the horizon today but 60 dolphins splashing around in the bay. They, unfortunately, didn't come too close but were hanging around Ben Buckler and in the middle next to the shark buoy.

'You sleep, you lose' that was one of Club Med’s slogans for a hotel targeting youngsters back in the day. That's pretty much what I feel every day, hence the motivation of coming down. Let's be honest, there is never a dull moment in Bondi.

On another note, as you know Morning Bondi is just a hobby and I have no intention to make it a full-time thing. I like my job in the Social space way too much for that. Yesterday, we released some funky designs for our future Bread offices. Do you like them? The puns are flowing in the comment section, perfect! 🍞

That's all for today, chat tomorrow!

Morning my friends,

How's everyone today?

This morning was real good. The first lights were on point, the sunrise pretty nice too, and there were whales just cruising along the bay. I squeezed a Bondi to Bronte run, coffee, chat and swim with good mate Andy. We also bumped into my awesome business partner Mary (check Uge's photos for the mugshot, hopefully, we make the cut) and had a chat with all the local legends.

I've said it before but what I love the most about my morning routine is the Social element, then the photos - not the other way around.

Now, I'm pumped and ready to tackle the day.

Have a cracking day team and chat tomorrow,

Hello Beautiful

Bonjour Bondi

Morning peeps,

Hope you've all had a great weekend.

Mine was very chilled with a fair bit of work, like pretty much every weekend since I started bread. Life of an entrepreneur, I guess. It's not always glamorous but I won't change a thing.

This morning was very quiet but it was very nice. The temperature outside was totally bearable, not one cloud in the sky and the water is still pretty warm considering that winter is around the corner.

I joined my mates in North Bondi but not much going on so ended up in South Bondi. Still not a great deal of activities to be honest.

Have an awesome week and come down in the morning, you won't regret it and who knows you might get snapped by Uge or me.

Morning team,

How’s everyone today?

How mild and beautiful was this morning. Sunrise was a cracker, a big red/orangy ball rising over North Bondi, water was divine and not that many souls around. Great for the peacefulness, but not so good for the photos.

What a week, I can tell you... It was non-stop but loving every single minute. I had so many work and social events, I’m ‘knackeroo’. Tonight dinner with friends and that would do for the week.

This morning, I caught up with good mate and tailor Andy Taylor. Yes, I do have a tailor. How do you think I dress that well? 🤪 Yes, his name is Andy Taylor with a “Y” and he is a Tailor with an “I”. What are the chances? I know… Anyhow, he’s a legend and we had a good time. If you are after a tailor, go to him and tell him that you come from Morning Bondi. He will look after you. No doubt.

That’s all folks, have a lovely weekend,

Pinkalicious

Morning peeps,

OMG what an amazing start to the day!

At 5:50ish, the sky was already all pink. The photos don't even give justice to how beautiful it looked in real life.

Besides the sunrise, I bumped into so many legends this morning, started at 5:45 at the servo (petrol station for the non-Aussies) with Rawson and Trent, then Jason, Liv, Diane, Loic, Théo, Caroline, Adam, John, Dion, Scotty and Sam.

This is actually the thing that I love the most about Morning Bondi, the social element.

Most importantly, I was with one of my closest mates and original members of the Morning Bondi crew Julius Cruickshank. One of the best brand designers in town.

Have a cracking day my friends and stay warm,

Morning gang,

Hope everyone is warm today.

Winter has definitely settled in. It’s so bloody cold in the morning. Puffer jackets and beanies are now the Bondi uniform.

The surf was much smaller than yesterday but still pretty good, only a few people are going for a swim these days - which is a shame as the water is delicious and it’s also the best chance to get a photo of you on Morning Bondi.

This morning the dozers (not to be confused with doozers) were out. 1x big, 1x small.

That’s all folks!

Enjoy your day,

Morning gang,

How was your weekend?

Mine was pretty epic, going camping with six mates in the middle of nowhere. Imagine 4-wheel driving adventure crossing rivers, campfires and all that.

This morning, I struggled to wake up as early as usual but with the sunrise being so late these days it didn’t really matter. I was here for it. Started in North Bondi to see my mates and finished South when I saw the big surf hitting the Icebergs.

There were 4x surfers scoring some pretty big waves. And, yeah, of course, Joel Pilgrim was amongst them.

Quiet Friday

Morning peeps,

Happy Friday as they say!

This morning was pretty nice, the sunrise was on point, not too cold and I was with my new mate Sam Cust talking business and taking photos - a perfect start to the day if you ask me.

Sam, is one of those overachievers. At 30 years old, he has helped more than 1,000 start-ups come to life with his business Hyper, he’s also an AFL coach, a Board Member at the Bondi Chamber of Commerce and plenty more... Impressive, eh?! More importantly, very nice and humble guy.

Other than this there were not that many people around. I have a photo of pretty much everyone who was around. Come on people the water is still warm, go for swims, I need subjects! Soon, it will be seagulls, men in speedos and flowers…

Have a lovely weekend and chat on Monday,

Cheers,

Morning gang,

Another day, another rainy day…

As I could see it was not raining, I ventured down much later than usual, around 6:45 am. I just arrived and a light drizzle started. What are the chances?!

I joined my mates for a quick dip in the ocean and coffee at Chapter One (my unofficial gallery, they have five of my prints on the wall). Still worth going out, if you ask me…

Have a great day my friends and stay warm as it’s a bit nippy at the moment.

Ciao,

Rainy days

Morning peeps,

Do you know what rainy days mean? It means archive days. Here are photos from the past couple of months, most of them were my second favourite ones so you wouldn’t have seen them before.

As you know, I love doing my Morning Bondi routine but it actually takes so much time. I’m talking about the photo bit especially.

At the moment, I take photos from 6:30ish when the sun is up for roughly 30-40 minutes, then selection of the good photos for 20 mins, light edit the best ones for 10 mins, then write the morning blurb for 3-5 mins (I tend not to overthink this, as you can tell), then upload of each individual photos on the blog for 10 minutes, then newsletter for 5 minutes, then Instagram for 3 minutes, Facebook 3 minutes and Instagram Story 3 minutes. Basically, around 1.5 hours on average.

So yes sometimes, I’m glad when it’s raining as I’m saving so much time.

Have a beautiful day, despite the weather, and chat with you tomorrow,

Xoxo

Morning gang,

How’s everyone today?

Slow start this morning, it was pretty average unless you could wait up to 8am (I couldn’t) to see the sun popping out behind the curtain of clouds. It was all about the golden reflection of the hidden sun on the water. Gold 24-carat for a few minutes.

I don’t have much to tell you today except that if you live locally and love ‘Shark Tank’ TV show, you will love the local version of it. It’s called the Bondi Innovation Shark Tank organised by the Bondi and Districts Chamber of Commerce and it’s next Wednesday at Hotel Ravesis. You can find all the deets in the Media Release here and book your tickets there.

I’m going with my awesome business partner Mary Proulx and supporting Sam Cust, one of the sharks (I think that’s what we call them). If you come down, let’s have a beer and break bread (what I love the most about our business name is that the puns are endless).

Morning beautiful people,

Hope you’ve all had a great weekend.

I almost didn’t take any photos this morning as I like it when it’s postal card perfect but let’s be honest all these clouds around were pretty epic.

Clouds are called “nuages” in France. Here you go, if you didn’t know now you do. Do you know how hard it is to come up with new titles and things to say every morning? It’s bloody hard, especially after 12 years of doing this.

Morning my friends,

What another beautiful start to the day. While yesterday was all about big waves, today was all about the mad reflo on the sand - absolutely stunning. I was sitting just next to Morning Bondi HQ (the platform about South Bondi toilets - sexy, right?) and was snapping like a maniac.

Once again I took way too many photos so the selection and light editing process was a bit of a chore. The beauty of having done this for so long is that I’m pretty ruthless and quick. Haters would say that you can tell.

Have a cracking weekend. Sadly, mine is not going to be as exciting as last weekend when I was at Tiny Georgie from Into The Wild. Honestly, do me a favour and book yourself a Winter getaway. You won’t regret it!

Morning my friends,

OMG, what an incredible morning!

Yes I got carried away and took way too many shots, hence the late update, plus I had some early meetings. It was honestly one of the best mornings we've had for a little while.

The light, the waves and the surfers braving the waves.

South Bronte, was where it was at this morning. No, I don't use a drone, just a good telescope lens to get close to the action.

I don't like bragging too much but I reckon the photos are pretty good this morning - some of them are certainly print material. What do you think?

Morning people,

What a stunning morning!

Today was all about the low-tide gold reflection. It was just the perfect conditions for photos. The problem, only a few people out including two metal hunters.

I was with fellow Frenchy Diane Perreau all morning. I reckon she’s the most popular French person in Sydney. So many people are stopping her every morning to have a chat and take a selfie with her.

Into the wild

Morning gang,

What a cracker of a morning!

For a change of scenery, I ventured down to Bronte this morning. I reckon I made the right choice, it was just an incredible show. I was with my mate Paolo for the entire morning and we were just looking at the waves rolling in. Bronte Pool was the best place in da house.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen the very rare video of me talking to the camera. With bread, my agency, I recently started working with the team from Into The Wild Escapes, the best tiny houses business around.

In order to have a better understanding of the experience, the client kindly invited me to go for a couple of days with my wife and daughter. Real legends, best onboarding!

The whole experience was amazing - especially for someone like me that is pretty hyperactive. I just ‘re-wilded’ for two days. Even though the network was working where we were, I put my phone in airplane mode the whole weekend and made the most of the experience.

The tiny house was kitted with all the things that you need, all the products in there are premium and sourced from ethical brands. Let’s be honest the firepit and outdoor bath were the highlights for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you are like me and struggle to switch off.

They are running a Winter Campaign which is all about swapping your usual beach days for days in the wild. You can book one of the 46 cabins all around Australia using this link to get up to 20% off this winter OR alternatively try your luck entering the simple giveaway that they are organising on their Insta. You can thank me later!

Morning people,

How’s everyone today?

After two days in Melbs (Melbourne for the hipsters), I’m back in the hood. What a morning! Incredible light, the surf was ON and the Icebergs was packed - perfect for photo ops.

This morning I caught up with my mate Ben, a fellow Frenchy that I haven’t seen for years. We hung out around the Bergs and finished with a swim in South Bondi - how original.

Enjoy your weekends my friends. Mine is going to be pretty epic. I’m going into the wild, literally. That’s right, I’m going to one of Into The Wild Escapes’ tiny houses. More on this subject later. Stay tuned people!

Morning team,

What a morning and this week is looking incredible too! It had to be this week that I go to Melbourne - what are the chances! 🤦🏽‍♂️

Typical Melbourne weather, it's going to be wet and cold. I know I'm not going to make friends by just saying this but come on let's be honest for a minute. Melbourne is not well known for its beach weather. Love to complain anyway, it's a French national sport.

Other than this, I smashed a Bondi to Bronte run in 22 mins while stopping a couple of times to take some quick photos and videos. That's what cold air does to me, I run like Forrest to warm up.

Enough about me, enjoy the photos and chat with you on Friday!
