Morning Bronte

Hola my friends,

Happy Friday as they say!

What a morning my friends! Lately, I've been waking up at 5 am so I can squeeze in a workout before the photos. Cray-cray? Yeah, a bit!

By 5:30ish, I was in Bronte. It was warm out there. I did a few laps of the parking lot - basically, a 440 on my own. It felt good but I do prefer to be surrounded by 100 people, it's a bit more fun.

Sunrise was epic, 100's of people around (ie. plenty of photo subjects), temperature warm and water divine. I also bumped into Paolo Cattaneo whom I haven't seen for years. He's one of the most inspiring guys around - he travels the world on his motorbike. He got sick last year but he's now back on track. Good to see you bud!

Bronte is probably the furthest I would go to take photos. I love it there. However, if you are into the Bra (Maroubra for the others). Good mate Tom, just put his house on the rental market. I've been there. It's great. Check it out here.

I guess that's it for today. I'm about to present ‘How to win at Social’ at the AusFitness Expo in front of 100’s of people, wish me luck. If you are around, let’s have a protein shake together!

Love you lots,

Amo

One big fat cloud

Morning gang,

Hope you are all well.

This morning I thought I wasn’t going to take photos because of this big fat cloud over North Bondi. But, I just had to be patient - which is what I did. It ended up being glorious around 7 am.

The problem is the lack of photo subjects. That’s the time of the year when only the bravest souls are going in the water. Trust me, it’s still worth going for a morning dip - the water is actually warmer than outside.

Have a cracking day,

Hump Day

Morning gang,

Hope everyone is well.

Yesterday and today were looking very similar - late sunrise due to the thick clouds on the horizon line.

I took a few photos yesterday but I wasn’t happy with any except one which I have posted below. Anzac Day is always an interesting day. It starts with a Dawn Service to commemorate all the soldiers who served Australia and New Zealand, but then people hit the pub to play Two-up and get hammered. Please explain. After 13 years here, I still don’t get that tradition?!

Anyhow, this morning was pretty nice and the temperatures outside and inside the water were just perfect.

Have a good one, my friends,

Morning my friends,

What a start to the week!

I woke up earlier than usual to try to squeeze in a run before the sunrise but I was only able to do a small 2 km along the promenade before being interrupted by some interesting colours in the sky. Workout, fail!

I went above the Icebergs (my usual spot really) to take some photos then back to North Bondi to catch up with the training gang. Big turnout this morning, you can tell that European Summer is around the corner.

The first lights were divine, sunrise epic, water warm and temperature outside balmy.

Have a cracking week my friends,

Morning peeps,

Hope you are all well.

This morning was so much better than expected. Started with some light drizzle early in the morning but finished with glorious sunshine.

I arrived down at the jungle gym in North Bondi around 5:30am and it was hectic - music was pumping with 30+ people jumping around. Team Murph was ON. Join them if you keen, the more the merrier. It's one of the numerous free communities around Bondi. Btw, my 'Local Communities' post is the most popular blog post ever. Did you join any communities since that post?

After a few physio exercises, I walked up to the South end then back to the North, and took a few photos along the way. The light was great.

Have an awesome day and a cracking weekend, my friends,

La Merde

Bonjour my friends,

How’s everyone today? (By the way, I keep on asking this every morning but no one ever bothers responding so I might drop this moving forward)

As people tend to say, it usually sounds better when it’s French. So let’s give it a crack, this morning was ‘La Merde’ (better than ‘The Shit’ don’t you think?) That reminds me of this video that a mate share with me last week - I didn’t know how to take it. But I loved it!

So instead of sharing photos of the grey sky with raindrops all over the lens, here are some photos from the past few months. Most of them didn’t make the cut prior to today. Yes, I tend to take a lot of photos every morning, almost too many (approx. 500-600), I only keep the ones that I like but not all of them make Le Cut.

Enjoy your day my friends,

À demain,

Wildness

Morning gang,

How wild was this morning!

The surf was big with some great waves coming through. 100’s of surfers were out making the most of the conditions. The Icebergs was getting hammered. They had to close the main pool so everyone was cramming in the kiddy pool.

I don’t have much to say except that my mate Gareth Robinson aka Chop from MindHabit is organising a free 2-part workshop at Bondi Surf Club (you don’t need to be part of the surf club) which is for anyone interested in well-being, positive mental health, finding work-life / student-life balance, creating new (or stopping old) habits. You can see all the deets here. Any questions, feel free to get in touch with him.

Last thing before I leave, I’m experiencing issues with my newsletter program since yesterday, I will sort this out over the weekend and newsletters will resume early next week. You must be missing them terribly?! I would, if I were you…

Morning gang,

How’s everyone today?

Personally, I’m super pumped. Incredible morning down there. Sunrise was a cracker, the surf was pure chaos, the light was great and spent my entire morning with good mate Anthony.

We started at Chapter One for coffee aka the unofficial Morning Bondi Gallery (they have 5x of my photos hanging on their walls), then Icebergs to see Neil’s squad getting hammered in the kiddy pool and then went for a stroll from South to North. I had to stop a few times to take photos.

This is the perfect way of starting the day. I can tell you that. Now I need to hammer in a fair bit of work, then fortnightly Taco Tuesday with mates tonight. Life is good!

Moan-day

Hi team,

Hope you had a good weekend.

Let's call a spade a spade... This morning was fairly boring. There was not much going on and I was in North Bondi so definitely fewer angles to photograph.

I did my physio exercise down at the bars while my mates were doing the usual workout. By the way, thanks again for all your recommendations. Wes is great, highly recommend him. Then dip in the ocean and coffee at Porch.

If you want to read semi-intelligent stuff. Yes, I can do this from time to time, feel free to check my latest article on my LinkedIn about the brand new social platform Lemon8.

Morning lovelies,

Happy Friday!

I love you. And no, I’m not talking about Bronte Beach, even though I do too. I’m talking about every single one of you. When I asked yesterday, if anyone could recommend a local physio, I had 80+ responses and there are still more coming. I just wanted to say how grateful I was - you guys are absolute gems. Thank you so much and sorry if I don’t get back to you all individually. Wes at The Well won, he was recommended by 6 people. You better get my shoulder fixed in no time mate. ;)

What an incredible morning! The sunrise was a cracker, the sun was shining, the temperature outside was pretty good (the puffer jacket was probably an overkill today) and the water was incredible.

Have a fabulous weekend. My business partner Mary is already well in the spirit, check her out on that zip line.

Amaury (not pronounced ‘Amore’ but considering how romantic I can be, it’s ok if you call me like that).

PS: As I already had a few people asking for it, if you want that list of local physio, get in touch and I will send you all the screenshots.

I love you too Bronte.

Alright, my turn!

Yeah Nah

Morning gang,

How’s everyone today?

Alright, I messed up this morning, I told you that it was going to be terrible weather but in fact, we had a bit of sunshine. I was so convinced otherwise that I went for a run-up to Clovelly. On my way back, I was pretty pissed with myself when I saw the sun shining for a glorious 5 minutes but I was around Tama and didn’t have my camera with me obviously. I’ve said it before but I’m absolutely useless at predicting the weather, almost as bad as BOM’s forecast, so please don’t trust me, ever.

I still took some photos this morning but to be honest, I’m not really happy with any of them. What do you guys think? Worth the double tap?

On a brighter note, the local artist Rosie Rushton has done a collaboration with my good mates at Bondi Liquor Co. A collab produced by Laura Brandon. If you fancy a party next Thursday, check out all the deets here. I will be there having a few Plink Gins and my Morning Bondi Gin on a drip. Just joking Mum, I would never do that!

Reflo-phile

Morning team,

What a cracker of a morning!

I arrived early and could tell that it was going off, and guess what, it did! Incredible vivid colour show but what I liked the most this morning was the reflection on the sand.

I’m what people would call a “reflo-phile” (it does sound more negative than it is). I had to double-check online but using ‘-phile’ at the end of a word denotes a person or thing having a fondness for a specified thing, so here we go. Oh well, we do learn every day, don’t we?!

Morning gang,

Hope you've all had a great Easter long weekend.

This morning was all a bit too much, the waves were a bit too big, the sunrise was too bright and it was bloody chilly outside - that cold breeze was not really pleasant, wasn't it? The puffer jacket is back on tomorrow, I can tell you that.

While I'm freezing my butt off in Sydney, my awesome business partner Mary is cruising along for 7 days between Noumea, Lifou and Mystery Island with our new client P&O Cruises. If, like me, you are a bit jelly and would love to go back to Summer weather, feel free to enter the competition that they are running - it's so simple that you would be mad not to try out. Who knows, I might be on that cruise too. That’s right, we agreed that the next time is my turn - let’s party! 🚢🤟🏼🍹

Morning peeps,

How are you today?

Now we are talking… After a few very average mornings, we finally had a sunrise worth waking up for.

If you are into clouds, you will absolutely love this morning's update. It was a Cloud Fest. Clouds from all different shapes, sizes and colours. If it was a video, it would feature on Cloudhub.

I was meant to exercise with friends, I just did the stretching bit and bailed to take photos. Do I have regrets? Not at all! However, I need to go back to VRTUS as I'm certainly not European Summer body ready.

Mercredi

Morning my friends,

How are you today?

Today is ‘Mercredi’, French for Wednesday. Why do I write this in French you may ask? A couple of reasons, first of all, it’s hard to come up with a new blog title every day and it’s also the last official day of the Alliance Française French Film Festival.

I’m actually going to officially close it at Palace Central tonight. If you are around, come and say hi. Over Easter, you will have the chance to book your tickets on the website to the encores of the top ten movies and that would be it for this year.

This morning was a bit better than the last couple of days. After a Bondi to Bronte run, I went for a stroll and took a few photos. I bumped into the usual suspects, always good to see familiar faces in the morning.

After a rough night, I rocked up later than usual. To be honest, I’m not sure I missed much. The sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds all morning.

I took a few photos from Morning Bondi HQ above the toilets in South Bondi and around the Icebergs. Remember, you can discover all my favourite spots in my interview with Exceptional Alien.

Finally, thanks for all the kind words that I received yesterday for my “Local Communities” post and my apologies if I missed some of them. I actually added a few more since then. Remember, that I was after the free local communities, not the ones requiring payment.

Have a wonderful day and get in touch if there is another topic that you would like me to cover.

Local Communities

Morning gang,

Hope you’ve all had a great weekend. I went down this morning but didn’t take any decent photos and got drenched.

Instead, as promised last week, I just wanted to share with you a list of all the free communities around Bondi and the Eastern Suburbs (and I also included a few requiring a small fee). The reason why I’m doing this you may ask? I know a few of the founders of these communities and they all have something in common - they are good souls who invest time and effort to build these thriving communities. This is my way of thanking them for doing so.

There is honestly something for everyone: running, swimming, gardening, meditation, yoga, tennis or even ‘mental fitness’ groups. A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the curation of this list. To be honest, I had no idea where I was getting into before starting that list.

Morning gang,

It’s Friday, happy days!

Hope you had a great week, mine was absolutely brilliant. We are on a roll with bread! We keep on winning new work, while still having fun which is what matters right?

For a change of scenery, I took my water housing for a ride with me. I went right for backpacker rip with no wetsuit, no care given really. I quickly regretted both. I stayed approx. 30 minutes in the water, I got sent left, right and centre by the currents and I could barely talk after as I was frozen. Plus, I didn’t take any decent photos in the water.

Vitamin Sea is definitely a cure for most things, except probably that I might have caught a cold - we shall see.

Have a fabulous weekend gang and chat to you next week,

Morning beautiful people,

What a start of the day!

The sunrise was pretty spectacular so I had to cut the training short to capture it. I never really need excuses for that but today I had a good one.

We were joined on the sand by a group of 50+ people all dressed up in pink here to commemorate Yom Hashoah. In remembrance of all the people that died during the Holocaust, especially the LGBTIQ+ community, hence the upside-down pink triangle.

On a lighter note, as you would have seen yesterday, I asked if people could share all the free Communities around Bondi. I received so many, at least 15+ I will go through all your messages over the weekend and prepare a blog post for early next week listing all the communities around here. I honestly had no idea that they were that many. Sign-up for my daily newsletter so that you don’t miss out.

Talking about community gathering, the guys from Motorino reached out yesterday and they are organising a free community ride on Sunday. If you feel like riding with a bunch of other cool cats, join them.

That's a wrap for today, enjoy the photos and if you know of any good communities around, it's not too late, so send them my way.

Muchas gracias,

Humpday Darkness

Morning gang,

I’m not going to lie, this morning was rather grey and uninspiring weather-wise.

What I did find inspiring however was seeing Team Murph training hard and the Bondi Penguins doing ins and outs in the dark. These two communities are totally free and are welcoming anyone to join them.

I’m actually thinking of curating a full list of all the free communities around the Eastern Suburbs. They can be exercise related or simply social.

If you know of any please send them my way and I will put a blog post together in the coming days listing them all out with a link to their website and/or Instagram.

Thank you for your input gang,

Xoxo

PS: Typical shit morning call for the good old archives photos. Here you go.
