Morning my friends,
Happy Friday, as they say.
What a cracking sunrise! Did you see it? Well worth the early alarm clock.
I joined my mate Loic Puyo (fellow Frenchy and ex-pro soccer player) in the surf. It was the perfect morning for it.
Now let's be honest, taking photos in the surf is the most challenging thing that you can do.
Here is what's going on:
- You are swimming while taking photos with a pretty heavy housing (thank god the OM-System water housing is pretty light. Yeah, I’ve been sponsored by OM-System (formerly called Olympus) for the past 7 years and am very proud to say it.)
- As you want to be in the middle of the action, you are getting hammered by the waves and dodging surfers coming straight at you.
- You constantly have droplets on the port so you need a homemade squeegee as large as your port to clean it.
- After a while, the housing can get foggy because of the temperature difference between outside and inside the water.
- After 45 minutes in the water, you feel like you've done a triathlon...
All this to say, if you see great photos taken in the surf (not talking about mine here), you should double appreciate them and double like them.
That's it for today, enjoy your weekend.
Xoxo
